SMILE MAKE OVER

What Do We Do?

We love to get to know people and change their lives by changing their smiles. With the latest technology, passion for dentistry and a caring manner we have transformed thousands of smiles over a decade.

WHAT IS OUR PROCESS?

Come into one of our clinics for a ‘Smilemakeover consult’. Bookings can be made simply via our online booking service, email or phone call.
You can expect one of our cosmetic dentists to take time and listen to any of your concerns and your values.

Our thorough examinations includes taking a full set of photographs, x-rays and a digital oral scan. We will analyse your face, lips, gums and teeth and explain what we see thoroughly. There are multiple options available for everyone, often varying in length of treatment and costs. We can readily answer your questions to guide you to the solution that best suits you.

Some of our clients may require digital planning to get the best outcome, if so we will schedule you in for a review appointment at no additional cost.

It is at this stage our clients often opt for a Trial Smile, where you can temporarily wear your new smile for a ‘test drive’. Our clients love to take selfies with their trial smiles to show their partners and friends at home! For clients that value detail we are able to send a 3-D digital design of the teeth to preview a before and after.

After graduating from the University of Otago in December 2015 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and a Bachelor of Biomedical Science (BBiomedSc) I was thrilled to start my journey in private practice in Masterton, especially after having grown up in Wellington.

Since starting I have introduced many of the latest technologies into the field and we now offer a comprehensive range of services all in-house. The most rewarding part is to be providing world class dental care locally in the Wellington region.

What I love about being a dentist is taking the time to get to know my patients, and putting them at ease during their visits while delivering a high standard of dental care. My focus largely is on full mouth reconstructions, smile makeovers and implant dentistry. Same day smile makeovers are my favourite.

I am very grateful to have a profession which I am so passionate about, and I get to work alongside talented dentists with a diverse skill set to collaborate with to bring the best outcomes to people. Since graduating I have taken many opportunities to travel worldwide and attend the most reputable residency programmes including full mouth rehabilitation, cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, and dental implantology. I have ongoing affiliations with NZ dental association (NZDA), Wellington branch of dentists association and NZ sedation dentistry (NZSSD).

When I’m not looking at teeth or travelling, I thoroughly enjoy the relaxed lifestyle the Wairarapa offers. In the summertime I can be found on the beach or entertaining friends and colleagues from out of town. My hobbies include fitness and racquet sports like badminton and squash.

(Full Arch Fixed Bridge)

Implants are titanium fixtures that are shaped like the roots of teeth. They are effective long term options for replacing missing teeth and attaining a new quality of life. In addition to single tooth replacement, dental implants can be configured to replace missing teeth in an upper or lower jaw or both. Other than having no teeth and a traditional full denture here are 2 common options. Our dentists will guide you as to which one is most appropriate for your budget, lifestyle and biology. Our consultation will include an examination of the mouth, photos, xrays and scans to assist you making the best decision.

A number of implants (usually 4-6) are placed into the jaw, then a fixed bridge will be fitted onto the implants on the same day or after 3 months of healing. Implant bridges stay in the mouth 24/7 and cannot be removed by the patient. Unlike a denture the implant bridges do not cover the roof of the mouth. Our dentists will decide which is the best material for your implant bridge to be made out of. Options can include Titanium reinforced acrylic, milled PMMA and Zirconia.

Bonding

Bonding

Dental bonding is a procedure in which we apply a tooth-colored resin material (a durable plastic material) and cures it with visible, blue light. This ultimately “bonds” the material to the tooth and improves the overall appearance of teeth. Tooth bonding techniques have various clinical applications including operative dentistry and preventive dentistry as well as cosmetic and pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and orthodontics.

Crowns

Crowns

A crown is a tooth shaped cover which fits over the existing structure of your natural tooth to protect and restore the tooth’s function.

Crowns can be used to:

Strengthen teeth which have been weakened by decay or a large filling.

Protect fractured, cracked and worn teeth.

Improve the shape, alignment and shade of a tooth.

After root canal treatment, to help strengthen the tooth.

Each crown is individually handcrafted by our dental technician to create a healthy, natural look.

Gum Lift

Gum Lift

Gum lift (also known as a gingivectomy) is a cosmetic dental procedure that raises and sculpts the gum line. This procedure involves reshaping the tissue and/or underlying bones to create the appearance of longer or symmetrical teeth, thereby making the smile more aesthetically pleasing. This procedure is typically done to reduce excessively gummy smiles or to balance out an asymmetrical gum line.

Dental Implants

Dental Implants

Dental Implants are an effective option to replace a missing tooth or a number of teeth. An implant consists of an artificial titanium rod which is placed directly into the jaw bone and acts as a replacement for the root portion of the natural tooth. The implant is made using pure titanium which allows new bone cells to grow around it: the implant then integrates with the newly formed bone which firmly locks it into place. This process is called ‘Osseointegration’.

Veneers

Veneers

A veneer is a thin layer of tooth coloured material which is placed over your natural tooth to mask the underlying enamel.
Veneers are designed to enhance the appearance of your teeth by:
Masking permanently stained teeth.
Closing Diastemas – spaces between your teeth.
Straightening misaligned teeth.
Improving the appearance of damaged or broken teeth due to decay or trauma.
The procedure is usually completed in two visits which is a simple and relatively quick route to improve your smile, the first part of the procedure involves the dentist removing a small amount of enamel from the front of your tooth and the second appointment the veneers are fitted into place.

Whitening

Whitening

Tooth whitening or tooth bleaching is the process of lightening the color of human teeth. Whitening is often desirable when teeth become yellowed over time for a number of reasons, and can be achieved by changing the intrinsic or extrinsic color of the tooth enamel.

Same Day Smile Makeover

In suitable cases we are able completely remake a smile within the same day. Clients whose dentition are worn, decayed or yellow often find crowns and veneers are the best long term options to preserve and brighten their smile.
With our digital Primescan (oral scanner) and CEREC (3D milling machine) we are able to 3D manufacture permanent ceramic crowns and veneers and bond them onto natural teeth within the same day. Veneers do not discolour or stain and can last 10+ years with good home hygiene and any bruxism (night grinding) habits addressed. This is a popular option in the Wairarapa amongst all ages.
